CONGRESSMAN BACHUS ANNOUNCES $1 MILLION FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO U.S. HIGHWAY 11 IN SPRINGVILLE

WASHINGTON – Congressman Spencer Bachus (AL-6) today announced $1 million in federal transportation funds for roadway improvements to U.S. Highway 11 in Springville in St. Clair County.

The $1 million will be used for drainage and other infrastructure improvements to U.S. Highway 11 in front of Springville Middle School.

Congressman Bachus said, “This project will help to increase safety not just for drivers on U.S. Highway 11, but for students walking to Springville Middle School.  These are needed improvements and it was a pleasure to work with our local officials to bring it about.”

Funding for the project was included in legislation (H.R. 1995) passed by the House this week.  The bill, previously approved by the Senate, will be sent to President Bush for his signature.
