WASHINGTON – Birmingham-based restaurant Jim ‘n Nick’s Bar-B-Q will be featured tonight at the March of Dimes Gourmet Gala 2006. Congressman Spencer Bachus and his wife Linda will serve as Celebrity Chefs for the evening, preparing Jim ‘n Nick’s famous Wood Grilled Quesadillas.
The March of Dimes Gourmet Gala 2006 “Our Babies Our Heritage” connects the March of Dimes mission to the traditions honored by Native American cultures. The proceeds from the evening will benefit the March of Dimes and its mission to prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
“We are especially grateful to Jim ‘n Nick’s for their generous donation to the March of Dimes. Their employees took time from their schedules to teach us how to prepare the quesadilla dish and then drove all the way to Washington with the needed ingredients to ensure our quesadillas are indeed authentic,” Linda Bachus said.
“Whenever we can bring a little bit of home to Washington, it’s always a good thing,” Bachus said.
