FIVE CITIES WILL SEE IMROVEMENTS

TO LOCAL SENIOR CENTERS

 


WASHINGTON- Congressman Bachus is pleased to announce that he has secured an appropriation for several local senior centers in the Appropriations Bill passed on November 20th.  The $175,000 in federal funding will be used by the Alabama Association of Area Agencies on Aging to make repairs, improvements, and expansions to current senior centers in the following cities:

 

-Lawley Senior Activity Center (Bibb County) $10,000      

-Leeds Senior Center (Jefferson County)                      $25,500     

-Morris Senior Center (Jefferson County)                     $50,000

-Mt. Olive Senior Center (Jefferson County)                 $75,000

-Warrior Senior Center (Jefferson County)                    $14,500

 

Jefferson County Commissioner Bettye Fine Collins had this to say about the funding: “The senior citizens of Alabama are so grateful for the continued efforts of Congressman Bachus to obtain funding for programs that improve their quality of life.  He is truly a friend of the seniors in this district.”
